Crescom, a provider of musculoskeletal medical
image analysis solutions, announced that it participated
in the 79th Korean Congress of Radiology (KCR 2023) to be held at COEX in
Samseong-dong, Seoul from September 20th to September 23rd.
KCR 2023 is an academic conference organized
by the Korean Society of Radiology, chaired by Lee Jeong-min. The conference
brings together medical professionals in the field of radiology from over 15
countries to explore the current and future developments in radiology from
diverse perspectives. It is an opportunity to exchange the latest research
results on various topics and current issues in the field.
At the KCR 2023, Crescom presented three innovative solutions: MediAI-OA, an arthritis
severity quantification analysis solution, and MediAI-FX, a wrist fracture
detection capable of accurately interpreting challenging scaphoid fractures.
Also, MediAI-BA, a bone age analysis solution will be exhibited together. In
particular, MediAI-OA is a software being developed and piloted by the Health
Insurance Review and Assessment Service (HIRA). It is designed to automatically
analyze knee X-ray images and provide a quantitative assessment of arthritis
severity based on the Kellgren-Lawrence (KL) grade and joint space reduction.
This software serves as a review support solution for healthcare professionals.
MediAI-FX is the world's first approved
medical device that can accurately diagnose scaphoid fractures, which are
notoriously challenging to detect, especially among other types of wrist
fractures. MediAI-BA is a hybrid method that combines the analysis of GP and
TW3, which are bone age reading techniques. This bone age analysis solution has
been confirmed in clinical trial results by the Ministry of Food and Drug
Safety (MFDS). By leveraging the benefits of each technique and utilizing a
doctor with little experience in conjunction with MediAI-BA as a reference, the
accuracy can more than double compared to reading without the solution.
